How it works
Tuchscherer's RPE chart (2008) extended by Helms & Israetel. Maps RPE × reps to a percentage of 1RM. RPE 10 × 1 = 100%. Each rep-in-reserve drops ~4% per rep.

FAQ
How do I rate RPE accurately?
Ask yourself: how many more reps could I have grinded at the same form? Subtract that from 10. Most beginners overestimate by ~1 RPE — calibrate by AMRAP-ing once a month.
Why not just use percentages?
RPE adapts to the day. Bad sleep, work stress, low food — RPE accounts for them. Percentages don't.
Does Ascend autopilot use RPE?
Yes. The autopilot reads your last 8-week RPE log to pick the next-set weight.
